Happy New Year Everyone! How is 2016 treating you so far?
I have been extremely busy sorting through hundreds and hundreds of family photos for our daughter's upcoming 21st scrapbook album. Also painstakingly scanning numerous photo negatives and restoring them in Photoshop phew!!
I want to include a couple of scrapbook pages that have some art elements throughout her album. Here is a sneak peak at some watercolour backgrounds that I have been experimenting with on Yupo paper (synthetic paper). It's like Magic! The watercolours create all these amazing textures and patterns by just simply moving the paper around and if you are not happy with the effect, you can wash off the paint and start again! Be warned it can get messy!
One of the pages will have a dream catcher theme, to which I will add this cut-out and feather stencil, along with a quote, photo and splashes of paint maybe. I had a happy accident with this photo, do you see the prism of light on the bottom right? It is reflected onto the mat by a beautiful crystal pendant my friend made for me a long time ago. I think a definite sign to do a dream catcher page!
The pressure is on to get as many pages completed as possible by March...so I will be very busy for the next few weeks.
Have you any projects that are stretching you at the moment? I would like to hear about them. Enjoy the rest of your week.
Until next time, Happy Creating!
Oh Serena, that will be such wonderful album for her, what a lovely and happy project to have, enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteThe watercolor effects on the yupo paper are delicious!
I hope it all comes together in time Marta! I have to agree I love the effects created by the watercolours on the yupo paper. A fine water spray bottle comes in handy for moving the watercolours around.
